Avdat or Ovdat (Hebrew: עבדת‎), is the remains of a Nabatean road station, and is located on a mountain in the center of the Negev Desert on the road from Petra and Eilat. If you have Google Earth, you can clearly see this filming location. Very cool. Start at the Gaza strip and fly down to the center of Israel and zoom to about 2000 feet. I have it marked.
