The World Food Program is diverting emergency food shipments to Ethiopia, where officials expect already severe supply shortages to worsen over the next few months. A month after the first worldwide warning of an increase in malnutrition cases, feeding centers are operating and life-saving supplies are arriving. But VOA's Peter Heinlein in Addis Ababa reports July is likely to be the most critical period, with deteriorating nutrition levels among people already living on the edge.

This video was produced by our office in Ethiopia. Here's the English translation: The message behind the school clip is the following. The teacher has given the student a home work to write poems under the title tomorrow. All the students but Abel, the sad boy in the clip, have written the poem comparing tomorrow with honey, chocolate, happiness, ice-cream and other fun and happy events and things. Abel, the sad boy who has lost parents to AIDS and is HIV positive can barely read his poem and lives the room in the clip, when the teacher read what he wrote it has very gloomy sprit. He tells of his sad life with out his parents and his lack of hope in today and there fore his inability to think of a good tomorrow. Heart broken by his poem, the teacher goes out of the class room and tells him that every one is by his side despite his situation. He also mentions that he is a good student and he shouldnt despair. After wards Abel changes the spirit of his poem in to one filled with hope, stating that due to the love and care from his classmates and teachers, he sees a better tomorrow. Final message under Concern logo: By tending to children, lets build tomorrows better world: concern Ethiopia

In Ethiopia and for Ethiopians, the very concept of contemporary music is synonymous with the name Tilahun Gesesse. He is a singer like no other with tremendously charismatic appearance, holding his rightful place in Ethiopia as the country's one and only king of pop. From love, family and friendship to liberty, unity and justice, there isn't an aspect of life that Tilahun hasn't sung about. Music has a special place in the everyday life of Ethiopians and no singer has been able to win the sentiments of the people the way Tilahun has done over the years. He sung this in his younger days about ETHIOPIA.
