On Monday, July 16, 2007, the Milwaukee chapter of the University of Notre Dame Alumni Club hosted its 7th annual golf outing and dinner benefiting the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation. The head Notre Dame football coach from 1964-74, Parseghian led his teams to the consensus national championship in both 1966 and 1973. At the Milwaukee event, about a dozen former Notre Dame football players participated in raising about $25,000 for the APMRF's work to find a cure for Niemann Pick-C, a terminal disease that claimed the lives of three of Ara's grandchildren.
